There was no reward, just the biggest life lesson. Drugs can take everything from you. I get a tiny bit stronger everyday and I take it as a win.

I get to enjoy my life without the desire to be inebriated, checked out or escaping with you. I operate from a clear conscious and a full heart nowadays since I left you behind. How do I talk to my son about drinking too much?
Stay calm and keep it respectful. Ask questions: Let them talk. Ask them how alcohol makes them feel, and whether they think they have a problem. Do it when they're sober: It might be tempting to have the conversation there and then, but the outcome is usually much better if they're not affected by alcohol.
It might be one of the most important things you can do for the addict. Think about what you imagine will happen if you stop doing what you’re doing for them. Then think about what will happen if you don’t. You can’t stop it continuing, but you can stop contributing to it. Be willing to look at what you’re doing with an open heart, and be brave enough to challenge yourself on whatever you might be doing that’s keeping the addiction alive. The easier you make it for them to maintain their addiction, the easier it is for them to maintain their addiction. It’s as simple, and as complicated, as that.

I have people that I love, and I know they love me back. And I’m able to watch my daughters grow older. Then, one day, you pushed me into that grave and began covering me up. You thought you would be saying the goodbye. You told me everything would be just fine if I would let you control my life.

You know that they are coming back to their lives, to their friends, families, boyfriends and girlfriends and you wonder if they are going to remember you. Effie M February 10th, 2022 Thank you for your article, it really helped me understand the life of an addict, my feelings and how to deal with one. I found my addict dead on Jan. 31, 2022. He was my boyfriend for almost two years. I suspect he overdosed, the toxicology report is not back yet. This man was snorting crushed pills, smoking crack, using meth and still looked good.
